“I hope everybody here sees what permaculture can do. I am growing organic coffee which is fetching a higher price on the market compared to inorganic coffee. I hope that in the next 2 years, my garden will give me more money that I won’t have to lack any basics needs including sending my children to a better school.”
Mestina Bipa is a organic coffee farmer in the rural Kapita region of Nothern Malawi. In this short video she shares the impact of learning permaclture practices and adopting organic farming methods. Admirably, Mestina has had to explore permaculture methods and provide for her family without any assistance from her husband as he is in poor health. She is a testament to the great strength and resillience that rural women in Malawi and the world over showcase with great grace and humility.
